Over the years, Myst and it's sequels have spawned hundreds of physical artifacts. Games, posters, hats, mugs, figurines, mousepads, props, novels, board games, magazines... the variety and scope of Myst's impact on the physical world can never be fully measured. But we can still try.
I've begun a collection of Myst artifacts. This collection will never be complete. The sheer amount of stuff that has been branded in Myst's honor is mind-boggling. Some of these things have been lost forever. Some of these things may only exist in the dusty corners of thrift shops or Craigslist. But these artifacts are valuable, not neccesarily from their own function, but from the heritage they represent. Myst was once the best-selling game of all time, and in the decades since it's creation, it's fans have always wanted more.
So, the purpose of this site is simple: I'm attempting to collect specimens of every physical artifact related to Myst and it's sequels. All the games, all the novels, all the t-shirts, all the calendars, all the toys... all of it. And I want to document it all. I want to lay bare the sheer breadth of impact that Myst had on the culture of the world by showing just how much Myst stuff there is. I want the fans to have a place where they can seek knowledge and lore that's been hidden away in box art or magazine interviews or press kits. And, most importantly, I want to make sure that nothing else is lost to time.
While this site is in it's infancy, things are expected to change. However, to prevent creating dead URLs, I'll try to avoid changing where anything is located for the forseeable future.
