Hardware Requirements PC: Pentium II (or compatible) 233MHz or faster 64 MB Ram Windows 95 / 98 / ME with DirectX 7.0 or later 8 MB video card with 32-bit color support (recommended) 4x CD-ROM Drive Mac: G3 233 MHz or faster 64 MB Ram OS 8.1 or later (not OS X native) 6 MB video card with 32-bit color support (recommended) 4x CD-ROM Drive It is recommended for all video cards that you obtain the latest drivers from your card's developer for best performance. 2. Software Requirements Quicktime(tm) 4.1.2 is required to run this Video CD. The Quicktime installer is included on this CD-ROM. Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater is required to use this video CD and to access the Desktop Themes. 3. Desktop Themes Desktop Themes for Myst III: Exile requires the installation of the Windows 98 Plus! feature from Microsoft. To troubleshoot problems that may occur with the installation of these themes, review the readme provided in the MystIIIExileThemes.exe. Desktop Backgrounds are available for Mac OS users and instructions for their installation are provided when you click on "Desktop Pictures". 4. Troubleshooting **Important Note** When experiencing any strange display of video, first check that you have your video card's latest drivers installed and QuickTime 4.1.2. - Though it is possible to run this videodisk in Windows 2000 or NT, it is not recommended. - Click once to open files and start movies. Double-clicking may cause problems. - Plug-in problems may be fixed by updating your browser and reinstalling QuickTime 4.1.2 - The Making Of may be quickly forwarded through by pausing it and then selecting fast forward. - White patches may be present in the interface if there isn't enough memory allocated to the QuickTime Player with a Mac OS. Close QuickTime, highlight the QuickTime Player application in your QuickTime folder, go to File/Get Info/memory. Increase your "Preferred Size" and close the window. If this problem still persists, please contact Tech Support. - White lines or patches may be present in the interface on a Windows system. This may be due to your video card. Movies can be played individually from the "movies" folder on your CD. - Decreased interface performance may occur if your cursor is set to have trails. - Dropped frames can occur in the videos if you have other applications running. Close all other applications when using the CD ROM for best results. This may also be corrected by starting the movie over from the beginning. - A Default security message appears when running the desktop themes (MystIIIExileThemes.exe) through the web browser. This is a standard dialog box for all web browsers. To save the installation program to your hard drive, simply copy the MystIIIExileThemes.exe to your hard drive and then double-click on it. - All features and functionality of this CD ROM are controlled through the interface on the left. Choosing "Main Menu" brings up the opening desk image. - Netscape is not supported. - Escaping out of the fullscreen interface and then maximizing the window may cause graphics to pixelate. It is recommeded to relaunch the Video CD to return to fullscreen mode. 5.
